Zhongshan Hill Scenic Area

The Zhongshan Hill Scenic Area is a well-known tourist attraction. Mount Zhongshan is also called Zijin (Purple) Mountain because there are always purple clouds lingering around its peak. Zhongshan Hill and Back Lake accompany each other and found the basis of the extraordinary landscape and talents of Nanjing. The mountain towers over the lake and seems to merge with the water, the city and the woods, which is a perfect representation of Nanjing’s well balanced landscape and culture.

The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is the center of the Zhongshan Hill Scenic Area which is also in the vicinity of the Tomb of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang and Linggu Temple. There are over 200 scenic spots and historic sites, and 84 are accessible to tourists. The entire Zhongshan Scenic Area consists of the Tomb of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang Scenic Area, the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum Scenic Area, Linggu Temple Scenic Area, Toutuo Ridge Scenic Area, and more.

Address:7 Shixiang Road, outside of Zhongshan Gate, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province

Transportation:By subway: Take Line 2, get off at Muxuyuan station and take Exit 1 to the Tomb of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang; get off at Xiamafang Station and take Exit 2 to Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. By bus: take bus 201 to the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum parking lot; take bus 203 and get off at Tomb of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang station; take bus 202 and get off at Linggu Temple station.
