Zhangjiajie
Zhangjiajie is a prefecture-level city of China, which was formerly called Dayong City, and is located in northwestern Hunan and in the upper reaches of Lishui River. Lying at the hinterland of Wuling Mountains, Zhangjiajie is one of the most important tourist cities in China. In September 1982, Zhangjiajie became China’s first national forest park, and in August 1988, Wulingyuan was included in the second batch of 40 national key scenic spots; in 1992, Wulingyuan Scenic Spot consisting of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxiyu Scenic Spot and Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve was listed into the World Heritage List by the UNESCO.
