Jincheng
Jincheng, formerly known as Zezhou, is in the southeast of Shanxi, next to Taihang Mountains to the east, Central Plains to the south, Yellow River to the west, Hebei and Liaoning to the north. The advantageous location and convenient transportation make Jincheng an important passageway from Shanxi to Central Plains. It has long been reputed as “a defense for Central Plains and strong city in the south of Hebei”. Boasting a long history, Jincheng is one of the birthplaces of Chinese culture. Signs of human beings as early as the late Old Stone Age were found here. In A.D. 583, it was made a prefecture-level city by the first emperor of Sui Dynasty. Jincheng governs 1 district, 5 counties and 1 city, enjoys plenty of honors such as international garden city and national garden city.
