Baiyun Mountain Scenic Spot in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province
Baiyun Mountain is the top of the new "Eight Sights of Guangzhou". Situated in northeastern Guangzhou, Baiyun Mountain is among the famous mountains in southern Guangdong and has been known as the "Top Beauty of Guangzhou" since ancient times. The mountain, fairly full-bodied, consists of over 30 peaks, and forms a branch of Jiulian Mountain, the highest mountain in Guangdong Province. Covering 20.98 km2 of land, and with 382 m-high Moxing Ridge as its highest peak, Baiyun Mountain is a vast stretch of land where peaks rise one after another and ravines cross each other. By ascending to one of its peaks, you can have a panoramic view of the entire city and look at the Pearl River in the distance. Spectacular views of white clouds hanging low among the peaks occur when the sky clears after rain or in late spring, which is why Baiyun Mountain have got its current name.
