Kongtong Mountain Scenic Spot in Pingliang
Lying 12 km west of Pingliang, Gansu Province, Kongtong Mountain is the west exit fortress of Guanzhong Flatland along the ancient Silk Road with Xi'an in the east, Lanzhou in the west, Baoji in the south and Yinchuan in the north. The scenic spot covers around 84 square kilometers with a main peak standing 2123 m high. Noted for its marvelous natural landscape and exquisite cultural scenery, Kongtong Mountain Scenic Spot is of highly tourism, cultural and scientific value. Since ancient times, it has been boasting the reputation of "the First Mountain in West China", “A Spectacle in the Western Towns” and “No. 1 Mountain Scenery in the World”.
